Day 14 | peavine

DAY  14

In college I worked part time at Chick-fil-A. To this day, it is still one of my favorite jobs that I have ever had. My favorite part was the customer service aspect of Chick-fil-A. It was my goal to serve people the best way I could and make them feel welcomed and important. At Chick-fil-A we had a reputation to uphold. We were known for customer service. We were different than any other fast food restaurant or any restaurant when it came to how we treated people.

Just like Chick-fil-A, we as Christians have a reputation to uphold. In Matthew Jesus says, “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.” One way in which we are to be salt and light is our service to God which brings good works and love towards others. Every day at Chick-fil-A wasn’t easy. I was usually exhausted after a 12-hour shift, but the satisfaction I got from serving people made it worth it.

The same goes for our service to God. It’s not always going to be easy.

There will be many times when we just don’t feel like serving. Whether it be in the youth department, children’s area, security, or wherever it is that you serve, there will be times where you’re just tired. But we can have the satisfaction of knowing that God is using us

us to reach people for the Gospel of Jesus Christ! In Galatians it says, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” When we get weary of serving, let us remember that in due time God will bless the works that we have done and our faithfulness of not giving

up. Here at Peavine we have a vision from God to reach one percent of Peavine City which is about five thousand people. A football coach once said “We can accomplish something extraordinary if everyone is focused on the same thing.” God doesn’t need us to reach five thousand people, but how great is it that He WANTS to use us! So let us not grow tired of serving and doing good, but instead, let it be our pleasure!
