Pastoral Staff

Dr. Stephen J. Anthony
Senior Pastor

The Anthony family came to the rolling hills of north Georgia from the sandy beaches of south Florida in July 2005. Three land purchases, eight or nine parking lots, two recreation fields, and three construction projects later they stand amazed at what God is doing at Peavine. Both Steve and Jeanna come from a rich history and heritage in that their parents have served in ministry for well over five decades.

Dr. Anthony graduated from Liberty University, Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Trinity Theological Seminary. He has been the pastor of churches in Ohio, California, North Carolina, and Virginia. Transitioning churches from years of decline to growing, healthy churches seemed to be a gift of Dr. Anthony's. LifeWay Christian Resources recruited Dr. Anthony to serve as a Church Growth Consultant where he quickly found success as a conference speaker and Sunday School specialist. Realizing his heart and passions were in the pastorate, Steve and Jeanna did not hesitate to relocate to south Florida and assume his father's church after health issues forced his father into retirement. The Anthony's were happy and content in Florida until God brought them to Peavine and the place they lovingly affirm as "home."

Dr. Anthony loves to read books, landscape outdoors, and always seems to have "a new project." Jeanna is a gifted soloist, women's leader and speaker, and works for Catoosa County School District. Steve and Jeanna love to work and serve as a team in ministry and absolutely love the people and Body of Christ at Peavine.

The Anthony's have two daughters who both attend Heritage High School. Hannah will be a senior next year and Alexandra is a sophomore. Both young ladies enjoy their friends at church and school and are involved in Peavine's youth.

Rev. Denny Patrick
Worship Pastor

Hello! My name is Denny Patrick. I am the Praise and Worship Minister here at Peavine. I graduated from the Electronic Computer Programming Institute in Chattanooga, TN with a certificate in computer programming and pursued a career in the computer programming and management field before accepting God’s call into full time Music Ministry in August of 2007. Music has always been a special interest of mine participating in the band in my school days in the marching, concert, and swing bands. I enjoy singing, working with computers, photography, and am a big fan of college football. I have been a member of Peavine Baptist Church since November of 1976 and have taught Sunday School and have led the Youth and Adult Choirs bi-vocationally at various times. I was married to the former Susan Jane Cooper on June 6th 1975 and we have three children, Leah Torrenti, Justin Patrick, and Stacie Wilson. I think the most enjoyable part of my job here at Peavine is the privilege I have of being used by God to lead my fellow worshippers into the throne room of God through worship and praise. One of my favorite bible verses is Philippians 4:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
